What the AAA wants from the transport system:

• Long-term transport planning for Australia’s population growth.
• Fairer funding for better transport and safer roads.
• Transparent funding decisions and project selection.
• Lower costs; better choices; and emissions reduction delivered at least cost.
• Data-driven responses to road safety.

To achieve these outcomes, the AAA is calling on the major parties to deliver:

Immediate action – immediate investments in policies, programs and infrastructure that will deliver much-needed upgrades to the transport system’s capacities and operations.

Longer term reform – commitment to a full review of the national land transport network, policies, planning and funding – and to deliver a Land Transport White Paper by the end of 2027.
