Australia’s peak motoring organisation is calling on the re-elected Albanese Government to sharpen its focus on road safety as new figures show the nation’s road toll continues to climb, and that 1,296 people were killed on Australian roads in the 12 months to 30 April – the highest for the equivalent period since 2011.
New data from Australia’s Real-World Testing Program shows seven of the latest 14 vehicles tested consumed between 10 and 35 per cent more fuel than advertised.
