Members of the public have reported unusual debits, invoices or emails claimed to be from the Australian Automobile Association.
Some people have received unusual direct debits that use the AAA as a reference, often including a copy of the AAA logo.
These debits are fraudulent and were not initiated by the AAA. Anyone receiving such debits should contact their bank immediately.
Others have received invoices or offers to win prizes in return for clicking links in emails claiming to be from the AAA. Anyone receiving such an email should delete it immediately. Do not click on any of the links, including the unsubscribe links.
The AAA first reported these activities to the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission’s National Anti-Scam Centre – scamwatch.gov.au – in 2023 and has made an updated report on 6 December 2024.
