Understanding and managing fatigue in the workplace

This project aims to develop an evidence-based workplace behaviour modification program for workers and management that fleet operators can use to reduce risks associated with fatigued driving.

The research team is building an evidence base by:

  • studying drivers in a simulator and in virtual reality environments
  • monitoring diet, exercise, and sleep/wake patterns
  • assessing telematic fleet data
  • undertaking employee surveys.
