Bringing Your Car to Australia
Get all the info you need to temporarily bring your car, motorcycle or other vehicle to Australia. The online guide includes a rundown of the different vehicle registrations rules that apply to each State and Territory.
Taking Your Car Overseas
Just as you require international identification when you're travelling overseas, commonly by way of passport, so does your vehicle. The document used to identify your vehicle is called a Carnet de Passages en Douane (CPD) and allows visitors to temporarily import their vehicles for a limited period of time.
International Driving Permit
Even if you don't intend to drive when travelling overseas, the AAA
recommends always travelling with an International Driving Permit (IDP).
Camping Card International
The Camping Card International (CCI) may entitle members to discounts and covers third party insurance claims for bodily injury to third parties, and/or damage to property resulting from any accident occurring while camping. |
