The AAA presents submissions, representing the views of Australian motorists and our constituent members, to government hearings and enquiries:
1.9.1998 (80 KB)
Progress in Rail Reform
AAA's focus is traditionally on road issues but it is cognisant of the fact that Australia must recognise the importance of having an efficient land transport system with consistency across modes, and not concentrate unduly upon the individual modes.
1.3.1998 (127.35 KB)
Inquiry into the Regulatory Arrangements for Trading in Greenhouse Gas Emissions
AAA supports "no regrets", cost-effective and equitable strategies that will achieve real outcomes. Once no-regrets measures are exhausted, greenhouse gas trading schemes may be beneficial in meeting greenhouse targets.
1.1.1998 (192.05 KB)
Tax Reform and Motoring
This paper sets out some facts about the current system, followed by a discussion of tax issues and some specific motoring taxes and charges. A preferred position which represents equitable and efficient tax and charge regime for motorists is advanced.
