Chief Executive to take up key international role

Statement from Mr Ross Herron, President of the Australian Automobile Association (AAA)

The Chief Executive of the Australian Automobile Association (AAA), Mr Andrew McKellar, will leave his position at the end of the year to take up a key international role.

Andrew has been appointed Secretary-General for Automobile Mobility and Tourism with the Federation Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA) in Paris.  The FIA is the governing body for motor sport and is the federation of the world’s leading motoring and touring organisations.

He is well placed to coordinate and support the global advocacy activities of FIA member clubs on issues such as road safety, enhanced mobility and consumer rights.

Andrew has been an outstanding Chief Executive and an extremely strong and effective advocate for motorists during his three years at the AAA.

Andrew will take up his new role in early 2015 and we wish him and his family all the best for the future.

The AAA Board has begun the recruitment process for a new Chief Executive.
