AAA Welcomes Five Star Result for Impreza

31.8.2007

The Australian Automobile Association – the peak national motoring organization – today welcomed the five-star rating for the new Subaru Impreza.

The result means Subaru now has a five-star fleet, with the Impreza joining the Forester, the Tribeca, the Liberty and the Outback with five-star safety ratings.

The five-star rating was awarded by the Australasian New Car Assessment Program, Australia’s leading vehicle safety advocate, which crash tests new cars and awards them a star rating for safety.

“This is a good result for the Impreza and a great result for Subaru as the company continues to place safety alongside style in attracting new car buyers,” AAA Executive Director, Mike Harris, said.

“Not only did the Impreza score well for its safety features, but it was also awarded the top pedestrian rating – four stars – for its commitment to maximising safety for all road users.

“There is no doubt cars are getting safer and we encourage Australian manufacturers and dealers to continue this push for vehicle safety in the interests of Australian motorists and their families.

“Five people die on Australian roads every day – AAA and our Constituent motoring organisations welcome this five-star rating and look forward to continued enhancements in safety for motorists and all road users.”
