NATIONAL CLIMATE CHANGE SUMMIT

3 June 2008, Canberra

In February 2008, the Australian Automobile Association (AAA) published its climate change statement, On The Road To Greener Motoring.

A clear message of the statement is that if we are to achieve significant cuts in motoring related greenhouse gas emissions, contributions from many parts of society will be required.

AAA hosted a national climate change summit in Canberra on 3 June 2008.

The summit brought together leading experts and decision makers to critically examine the role that cars play in our society and the environment, and set an agenda for future strategies and activities.

Communique

At the conclusion of the Summit, AAA published a communique which reinforces the Association's position on climate change and sets out commitments for further action.
